E-mail Attachments and Library Files
  Send via email icon on Attachments tab and the Library, attaches the selected file to an e-mail
  The e-mail (.eml) file pops up in the users browser’s download notification area

Lookups (Search across phone and e-mail addresses)
  The Contact/Lead lookups now support searching across all phone numbers and email addresses
  One selection for Phone will search all phone fields (Work, Home, Mobile, etc…)

New Log Menu – Complete Meetings, Calls, etc.

Territory Realignment in Web Client (Administration)
There are some differences between the Territory Realignment in the web client and the LAN Administrator:

Web Client
  Record selection using Accounts list view:

– Groups (all types)
– List view filters
– Allows selection of individual records

  Cannot realign Activities and Processes

Administrator
Record selection based on:

– Groups, but not ad hoc Groups
– Owner or Account Manager lookups

Options to also realign:

– Activities
– Processes


Mail Merge Word Add-in Improvements

  When output to e-mail there is a new From option to specify the e-mail address from which the merged e-mail will be sent. By default, it is the e-mail address for the logged in user.
  On the Mail Merge Complete dialog:

– Failed Records section listing records that failed to merge (including a reason for the failure)
– Create Failed Merge Group button. Creates a Group containing the Contacts or Leads that failed to merge. The Groups is named: “MM Issues – MM-DD-YY HH.mm”

That’s right! Mail merge is now available in a way that eliminates the browser restriction

Infor has released an answer to the mail merge issue that has plagued the software since Microsoft announced the retiring of Internet Explorer.  Previously if you needed to use the web mail merge function in the CRM you were restricted to Internet Explorer and 32 bit Office.   NOW with this new release, not only is 64 bit Office compatible but it is no longer browser isolated!

Compatibility is listed with Office 2016 and 2019 (Office 365), but we also tested on Office 2013 and it worked as expected.  This new functionality is appropriate for Infor CRM Web Client version 8.3.0.0 and later.

This new mail merge function is installed as an add-in to Microsoft Word and it adds additional settings to the Mailing ribbon in the Word application.  Configuration is remarkably similar to the XBar and merely requires the SData portal and a user log in.

Templates created from an earlier version will need to be converted and if you are adding a table to display multiple items we recommend re-creating the template in the new function rather than adding a table to the converted template.  We have had some issues with adding tables but the adding fields works fine in a converted template. A new template created in the new function works great when adding a merge table.

Converting…

You can still map fields from the CRM, associate specific user information for a signature, and generate the layout that you have used in the past.

Send the information to a single person based on a specific record, or merge to a whole group.  Regular dynamic groups and Ad-hoc groups are available.

Want to send it out as email or print a letter or create a document, no problem!  It also still creates a history record and an activity follow-up in CRM if you wish.

 

 

Some configuration items to consider to allow the CRM and Office Outlook to work together for mail merge:
When the two programs wish to work together you may get a window asking you to allow or deny access to the Office program when you run the mail merge.  This form will pop-up for EACH email that you are trying to send!  There is a way to allow the two programs to work together in the Office Trust Center permanently.

To do this, in Outlook open File > Options > Trust Center> Trust Center Settings button, Then programmatic Access > Mark the ‘Never Warn me about suspicious activity’ radio button.
*There may be caveats to this permission depending on your company policy.

Infor has released the latest version on the Xbar client; v1.4.1

This section lists the features added in Infor CRM Xbar for Microsoft Outlook version 1.4.1:
– The Ability to synchronize Leads, including new sync option to define behavior. (for Infor CRM v8.4.0.4 only) Requires KB 2151140 and the companion pieces in KB 2144758.
– Administrators can now manage sync options per resource, for example contacts, leads, calendar items, or tasks in the Web Client Outlook Sync integration, including the ability to set and lock down sync direction, preventing users from setting the direction in the Xbar options in Microsoft Outlook. (for Infor CRM v8.4.0.4 only) Requires KB 2151140 and the companion pieces in KB 2144758.
– The ability to perform Address Book searches of Infor CRM Address Books as contains or starting with.
– The On first sync options for appointments and tasks now default to the current date when an option is selected.

Issues resolved in v1.4.1 Infor CRM Xbar for Microsoft Outlook v1.4.1 contains the following resolved issues: Issue Number Description INFORCRM-5240 Xbar should auto-populate the Account Manager field for new opportunities like the Windows and Web clients do. INFORCRM-17383 When Xbar is installed on a computer with 4k resolution the interface is too small to be used. INFORCRM-19573 If you specify http instead of https, and the server redirects (302) to https, the .Net part of Xbar will cause Microsoft Outlook to stop responding. INFORCRM-20060 In a Thai localized environment the copyright sign in the About Infor CRM Outlook Connector screen displays corrupt characters. INFORCRM-20417 In a Chinese simplified localized environment, on the Recurring screen, the label in front of ‘Day(s) after completion’ is truncated at the beginning. INFORCRM-20427 In a localized environment, when scheduling an activity, and adding an attachment, the Add Attachment screen title is untranslated. INFORCRM-20455 In a localized environment, the Contact/Lead Details dialog box contains untranslated strings and the date is incorrect. INFORCRM-20550 Under some conditions, activities are missing after synchronization. INFORCRM-21745 Updates to the Contact options, for example Do Not Solicit, appear to save and show the updated value in the Infor CRM Web client, but then if the contact details are updated and saved, the updated contact option changes are reverted to the previous settings. INFORCRM-22052 When a task created in Infor CRM is synchronized to Microsoft Outlook and is completed in Outlook, the corresponding to do record does not display in the Infor CRM Web client and is missing or displays incorrect data in the history table and Windows client. INFORCRM-22166 In a French Infor CRM environment, when a user drags and drops an email in to an opportunity in Xbar, the options in the ‘Add e-mail to opportunity’ prompt are different than those in an English environment. There is also a translation error in the French translation of the ‘Add e-mail to opportunity’ prompt message. 2 | Infor CRM Xbar for Microsoft Outlook Resolved Issues Infor CRM Xbar for Microsoft Outlook Resolved Issues  | 3 Issue Number Description INFORCRM-22413 When using an Internet Explorer browser, when an e-mail is dragged from Microsoft Outlook and dropped on an Infor CRM Web client detail view, the From, To, CC, and BCC information is missing on the history record. INFORCRM-22721 In Xbar, a contact note or history record Regarding field shows a different value than the same field in the Infor CRM Web or Windows clients. INFORCRM-23590 In an environment with a screen resolution of 1366×768 or higher some Infor CRM Xbar lookups do not display correctly. INFORCRM-24411 On the Activity panel in Outlook the lookup icons for Contact, Account, Opportunity, and Ticket are missing. INFORCRM-24643 When using the Test button to test the connection, automatic redirects should be disabled. INFORCRM-24675 If Xbar is configured to sync using a folder that has been deleted from the Microsoft Outlook profile on another computer, Outlook will not respond after logging in. INFORCRM-24696 The number of errors in the Options, Logging Tab should be limited to the most recent 100 errors. INFORCRM-24928 Users should be prevented from selecting a folder for lead sync that was previously used for contact sync or selecting a folder for contact sync that was previously used for lead sync. INFORCRM-24970 When Xbar is installed and the side panel is enabled, sending emails with a delayed send rule set may result in emails that do not send.

There are some exciting new features that Infor rolled out in this latest release. We are happy to see the many Activity updates. You can now make groups in Activities and assign several Opps, Contacts, Accounts and Tickets to an Activity. They also made workflows and alerts that can be triggered for CRM actions. Plus a great UI uplift with new colors and icons!

Here’s what you can expect in the latest version of Web Client!

Ability to associate multiple records to an activity, including: contacts, accounts, opportunities, tickets, and leads and now sales orders, quotes, campaigns, returns,and defects.

Ability to associate multiple records with a note, including: contacts, accounts, opportunities, tickets, and leads and now sales orders, quotes, campaigns, returns, and defects.

Fanning out recurring activity occurrences. Activities list view supports groups and standard list view features.

New CRM Workflows provide configurable automated email notifications based on updated CRM content.
REST API Swagger docs for SDATA.
Icons upgraded to the Uplift icon set.
Discontinuing the support of subqueries, by providing new out-of-the-box query parameters to replace subqueries and the ability for customers to create and manage their own custom query parameters.
Out-of-the-box date parameters allow for queries based on dynamic timeframes.

Application Architect updates:
New properties for allowing entities and parent entities to be associated with activities and notes
New property for allowing entities, relationships, or properties to be included in the CRM Workflow content Enabled entities define the set of entities enabled for CRM Workflows.
Enabled relationships and properties define the set of CRM entity properties and related entity properties automatically populated into the CRM Workflow Properties tab.

Infor Operating Service (OS) serves as the foundation for all Infor Products! Infor announced the general availability (GA) of Infor OS 2020-06 (June release) for on-premises customers!

Below you find a summary of some of the enhancements included in this release:

Infor OS
• The versioning of Infor OS components is now aligned. All Infor OS components developed in the same month now have the same version. number. The version pattern is year-month (YYYY-      MM).
ION
• API to redistribute tasks and alerts is available.
• The “Set Parameter” workflow step allows multiple parameter assignments to be modeled in one step.
• Multi-language support for Task Viewer context application is now available.
• Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) encryption/decryption functionality is now improved to support expiration of PGP keys.
• Searching in large volumes of data can now be more effective with the seconds filter for the Date and Time Range in OneView.
• The ping request to OneView API now returns a JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) instead of a string in response, which was not easy to map in ION data/workflow and orchestration.
IFS
• Time zone, Locale, and Language can now be set in the user import file, through the IFS user interface.
• A new screen is available to display users that have been soft deleted.
Homepages
• Options to delete all settings and settings rules are added to the Bulk Delete page in Homepages administration.
• A Critical priority option is added to announcements.
IDM
• Support for User Impersonation and ID Translation in APIs.
• The IDM mobile application now supports .ionapi files.
